Access to Attendance functions is controlled according to the permissions assigned to the user’s account.
Users with the appropriate permissions may be able to:
- Record daily attendance.
- Save attendance as a draft.
- Submit attendance.
- Review attendance registers.
- View student attendance calendars.
- Generate attendance reports.
- Configure attendance statuses.
- Configure attendance settings.
- Use the attendance scanner.
Because attendance records form part of the school’s official student records, users should ensure that attendance statuses and remarks are entered accurately before submitting attendance.
Users should also verify the selected Term, Class, Stream, and Date before recording attendance to ensure that the attendance is associated with the correct register.
Summary
The Attendance Management module provides a centralized system for recording, monitoring, reviewing, and reporting student attendance.
The Dashboard provides an overview of attendance statistics and class or stream completion. Take Attendance provides the main interface for recording daily attendance, with options to mark students individually or apply bulk attendance statuses.
The Registers section provides access to attendance records across selected date ranges, while Student Calendar provides a student-focused view of attendance.
The Reports section provides both quick class reports and comprehensive reports that can be filtered by term, class, stream, student, and date range. These reports can be exported or saved for administrative use.
The Statuses section allows the school to configure attendance statuses and define how they contribute to attendance calculations. Settings provides controls for attendance rules, including weekend attendance, future attendance, term-date restrictions, submission requirements, multiple daily sessions, and attendance thresholds.
Finally, the Attendance Scanner provides an alternative method of capturing attendance using student barcodes or QR codes, while also supporting manual code entry.
Together, these functions provide authorized users with a structured system for capturing daily attendance, monitoring attendance completion, reviewing student attendance, generating reports, configuring attendance rules, and supporting barcode or QR-based attendance capture.
